Renowned actor Daniel Day-Lewis is coming out of retirement to star in the film Anemone, directed by his son, Ronan Day-Lewis. They co-wrote the movie exploring the “dynamics of familial bonds,” with a star-studded supporting cast including Sean Bean and Samantha Morton. Focus Features will produce the film, which marks Day-Lewis’s return to acting more than 7 years after Phantom Thread. He’s widely-considered to be one of the world’s greatest living actors, and remains the only person to ever win 3 Oscars for Best Actor (My Left Foot, There Will Be Blood, Lincoln). Ronan Day-Lewis, 26, is a painter; Anemone marks his debut as a director. (Variety)
