The Danville Area Community College Board of Trustees has announced a special meeting at 2 PM for this Thursday, October 3rd. The agenda includes time for “public comment,” and then calls for a “motion to go into closed session.” Further discussion on the situation involving suspended with pay DACC president Dr. Stephen Nacco is expected.
The agenda includes this description of what is planned for closed session:
BE IT RESOLVED, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 120/2 of the Open Meetings Act, the Board of Trustees of Community College District #507 shall enter a Closed Session for purposes specified in Paragraphs (c)(1), specifically matters pertaining to the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body.
Dr. Nacco was suspended with pay on September 16th following closed session board discussion. The action came shortly after his publicized disagreement with Danville mayor Rickey Williams, Jr.
