The Danville Area Community College Board of Trustees held another special meeting, conducted mostly in “closed session” concerning suspended with pay president Dr. Stephen Nacco; in the late morning hours of Friday, October 11th.
During the “public comment” period prior to “closed session,” the one person who chose to speak was Former Vermilion Advantage CEO Tim Dudley. He praised Dr. Nacco as being someone who has been good for the community, someone who loves the community, and someone who was good to work with on special community projects.

In praising the trustees for their service to the community, Dudley also stated that difficulties with one person should not lead the Board of Trustees to dismiss someone who has meant a lot and done a lot for the Danville area and Vermilion County region.
Dr. Nacco was suspended with pay by the Board of Trustees, with pending further action including possible termination, on September 16th; shortly after his well publicized conflict with Danville’s Mayor Rickey Williams, Jr over the issue of the Danville area participating in a federal program that would bring immigrants to the region for assistance with housing and job training. Dr. Nacco was in favor of this, Mayor Williams was not.
