The time is here for donations to be made to Danville’s WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA, with the ceremony scheduled for Saturday, December 14th at Danville National Cemetery. Location Coordinator Tammy Williams says they would love to cover all 12,000 gravestones at the cemetery at VA Illiana Health Care. But so far they are at just 300 donated wreaths. Williams says last year they almost hit the previous high mark, which was set a few years before the pandemic.
AUDIO: 2017 we had 5,900. Last year we had 5,800.
Williams says they could use additional personnel help as well; but more than anything, they need everyone to get busy purchasing the wreaths, and bringing yet another big time delivery to Danville
AUDIO: Well, we need funds. We need donations. Anybody that knows how to fundraise, that would be helpful. But it’s basically just the donations itself. People just go online and purchase the wreaths.
You can go to “Cover Danville National Cemetery” on Facebook, or go to the website www.wreathsacrossamerica.org.
The December 14th ceremony will begin at 11 AM, with Scott Eisenhauer as Master of Ceremonies and State Rep Brandun Schweizer as Guest Speaker.
