OAKWOOD — A section of the Interstate 74 in Vermilion County will close overnight on Tuesday as workers repair a damaged overpass.
The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that westbound I-74, about 1.5 miles west of the Oakwood interchange at Exit 206, will close at 9 p.m. Tuesday, with the closure expected to last until 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.
“The closure is necessary for repairs to a damaged beam on the (County Road) 680 East bridge over I-74,” IDOT officials said.
A detour using U.S. 150 will be posted. Motorists are advised to expect delays, use alternate routes when possible and drive carefully in work zones.
