During Tuesday (Nov 5th) evening’s Danville City Council meeting, Human Relations Administrator and MLK Committee member Sandra Finch mentioned that the MLK Scholarship, presented annually during the Martin Luther King birthday celebration at St. James United Methodist Church, has been increased from $4,000 to $6,000.
But Finch also mentioned that requirements remain the same, including the important writing of an essay when applying for the MLK Scholarship.
AUDIO: The MLK Committee decided to increase the scholarship to $6,000. They have until December 6th to submit their application to my office. The main work is writing the essay. So, everything else you have to get from a counselor from the school they attend, those type of things.
Once again, Finch says all applications need to be turned into her Danville Human Relations Administrator office by Friday, December 6th at 4:30 PM.
