Community service is not a graduation requirement for Danville High students but that doesn’t mean student groups are not actively out helping their community. Just this past week alone DHS students were giving up their days out of school to helping decorate and volunteering at the Festival of Trees and then also help the American Legion Post 210 at the Veterans 5K. Members of Student Council and Future Problem Solvers spent Election Day making five trees and a gingerbread village for the Festival of Trees. DHS students from the JROTC program, Black Student Union, FPS, Student Council, and National Honor Society all volunteered at both events.
