PSAs – Upcoming events at Danville Public Library – November 24 – November 30, 2024
Rubber Ducky Readers: Join this fun Beanstack Challenge! For every 10 books read, the child will get a rubber duck, every 100 books equal a book, a sticker and a certificate, 1000 books equal a goody bag filled with a book, a sticker, a completion certificate, a stuffed animal, a blow-up rubber duck, etc. This challenge is for ages 0-6.
Diversify Your Reading Challenge: In a reading rut? Expand your reading horizons by completing one or all of our challenges! Finish a challenge to earn a custom poster! This challenge is for teens and adults, ages 13 and up. August 1, 2024 – August 1, 2025
November 26: Tween It! Tuesdays. Fun programs for tweens each Tuesday. This week: Nailed It! Inspired by the Netflix TV series, tweens will be presented with a craft and supplies, but no instructions! 4:30 pm in the Rutan Room (Former Bookstore). Ages 8-12.
November 26: Wee Wigglers Story Time. Join us for action rhymes, stories, and songs for children ages 5 and under—Tuesdays at 10:00 am in the Rutan Room (Former Bookstore).
November 27: Wordy Wednesdays. Puzzle lovers, mark your calendars! Every Wednesday, head on up to the 2nd-floor Reference Desk for a variety of word puzzles. Available anytime during our regular business hours.
November 27: Board Game Day. Stop by the Teen Zone on the 4th Wednesday of every month to play board/card games and eat snacks! 3-5PM in the Teen Zone.
November 27: Closing at 5pm for Thanksgiving.
November 28: Closed for Thanksgiving.
November 30: Hear It, See It, Make It, Take It: Sensory Story Time. Sensory programs are designed for youth of various ability levels including differently-abled youth—Saturdays at 11 am in the Children’s Department.
November 30: NaNoWriMo Writers’ Club. In celebration of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), please join us for Writers’ Club every Saturday in November. Meet in our Star Books Bookstore from 10:00 am to 11:00 am for coffee, chats, networking, and more.”Every November, writers around the world work to write 50,000 words of a novel in 30 days. Coloring Contest for all ages: Color a picture and win a prize. Return entries by the end of the month. Entries will be displayed in the Children’s Room. Winners will be notified.
