Danville District 118 Superintendent Dr. Alicia Geddis has reached out to Central Illinois Multimedia Group, concerning the discussion on her status that has been placed on the Open Session portion of the agenda for the Wednesday, November 20th Danville District 118 Board meeting.
The superintendent shared that a threat against her goes back to this past May, during the Danville High School graduation at DHS. She said a pickup truck was displaying confederate flags, and that she ordered them taken down. She says shortly afterwards she received a threatening letter claiming to be from the Ku Klux Klan. Dr. Geddis says police contact with the KKK national office produced denial that they were involved, and denial that the regional office in Chicago was involved; therefore leading her to believe it was from someone local.
Geddis further stated that when the new school year began, various trucks were following her both to her district office and to her home; and that a total of five different administrators witnessed a total of four different incidents in the district parking lot that were believed to be threats aimed at the district.
Geddis stated that the Danville Police determined that there was no founded threat to her, due to that the trucks allegedly following her had no connection to the one connected to the original incident last May. Geddis also stated that only she and District 118 Director of Human Resources Kim Pabst were questioned about the alleged district parking lot incident.
Dr. Geddis further stated to CIMG that the District 118 School Board attorney suggested that she vacate the District 118 building, and work remotely until it is known that all is okay; and that this is an active FBI investigation.
