There will be some new people joining the Danville District 118 School Board next year. Bill Pickett explains…
There are four full terms up for election on the board in the April 1st, 2025 Consolidated Election but only three people filed candidacy petitions by Monday’s filing deadline.
District 118 School Board President Dr. Randal Ashton had disclosed earlier that he would not seek re-election. Two other current board members – Shannon Schroeder and Tyson Parks – did not file petitions seeking another term. Schroeder is the current vice-president of the school board and Elder Tyson Parks has served on the board three years.
Those who are running for the District 118 School Board are incumbent Darlene Halloran, Christopher Easton, and Toni Kimberlin Towne. Because only three people filed for the four seats there will need to be another person appointed to fill the vacancy next Spring. And with four new members joining the board it means the majority of the seven board members will be new.
