Monday, November 18, 2024- Danville Noon Rotary welcomed Maestro Matthew Sheppard of the Danville Symphony Orchestra. He completed his doctoral work at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana under Donald Schleicher. He has been Music Director for DSO since June 2024 and is fully embracing this new role in Danville. He loves all of the elements of high quality orchestral music and feels that through music, you have the chance to experience art in a different way. DSO exists because of the support of the community and he has found Danville to be very welcoming.

DSO is presenting Christmas at the Movies on December 8 at 2 pm and will feature the classic animated film The Snowman shown with live orchestral accompaniment, plus movie selections from The Polar Express, Frozen, The Muppet Christmas Carol, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas and other holiday favorites. Tickets are available online here. DSO generally performs six concerts throughout the year.
