THE FOLLOWING IS A WESTVILLE FIRE RELEASE
At approximately 12:41 pm, Westville Area Fire Protection District was dispatched for a possible residence on fire in the area of Grape Creek Road and 1735 East Road.
Westville Fire Chief Mark Ames II arrived on scene to find a single story wood structure home with smoke coming out from the front door.
12 members in total from Westville Area Fire Protection District, Catlin Fire Protection District, Georgetown Fire Department, Ameren, and Arrow Ambulance were on scene for the incident. Two residents were treated on scene by Arrow ambulance for possible smoke inhalation.
The fire was mostly contained to the kitchen area with minor extension into the attic. Once overhaul was completed, the fire scene was turned back over to the home owners.
All units returned to quarters without incident.
