Rubber Ducky Readers: Join this fun Beanstack Challenge! For every 10 books read, the child will get a rubber duck, every 100 books equal a book, a sticker and a certificate, 1000 books equal a goody bag filled with a book, a sticker, a completion certificate, a stuffed animal, a blow-up rubber duck, etc. This challenge is for ages 0-6.
Diversify Your Reading Challenge: In a reading rut? Expand your reading horizons by completing one or all of our challenges! Finish a challenge to earn a custom poster! This challenge is for teens and adults, ages 13 and up. August 1, 2024 – August 1, 2025
December 9: Genealogy Workshop: Your 2024 Genealogy in Review. It’s your turn! We will each share our progress in 2024. Please bring cookies or a treat to share. Beverages will be provided. 1-2:30 PM in the 2nd Floor Conference Room.
December 9: Teen Movie Mondays. Join us on the 2nd Monday of every month for a movie and popcorn in Teen Zone! Teens can suggest and vote on which movie we watch. 3 pm – 7 pm. Ages 13-19.
December 10: Tween It! Tuesdays. Fun programs for tweens each Tuesday. This week: Break a record. Choose a Guinness World Record and try to break it. 4:30 pm in the Program Room (Former Bookstore). Ages 8-12.
December 10: Wee Wigglers Story Time. Join us for action rhymes, stories, and songs for children ages 5 and under—Tuesdays at 10:00 am in the Program Room (Former Bookstore).
December 10: Lego Ornament Workshop. Don’t miss out on this opportunity for kids, tweens, and teens to make their very own Rocking Horse Lego Ornament! December 11: Wordy Wednesdays. Puzzle lovers, mark your calendars! Every Wednesday, head on up to the 2nd-floor Reference Desk for a variety of word puzzles. Available anytime during our regular business hours.
December 11: Rainbow Playgroup. Socialization, play and STEAM activities for toddlers. 10 AM- 11 AM. Howard Rutan Meeting Room.
December 11: Team STEAM. Join us for activities designed to help students foster creativity and boost critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This month’s craft is an LED Flashlight. 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room.
December 11: Teen Writing Club. Join us every Wednesday for Teen Writing Club! Journals and pens will be provided for our teen writers, along with writing prompts. 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm in the YA area.
December 12: Tween 3D Pen Class. Get your tech on while you learn about 3D Pens. Use software to create your own 3D masterpiece! 4:30 p.m. in the Program Room (Former Bookstore). Ages 8-12.
December 12: Anything Tech for Teens. Introducing teens to some of the library’s cool technology, including 3D Printing, 3D Pens, Sphero Balls, Cricut, and a Flight Simulator. Thursdays at 3:00 pm in the Teen Zone. Ages 13-19
December 12: Crafty Thursday. Stop by the Teen Zone for Ornament Painting! Monday-Thursday 3 pm to 7 pm and Saturday 11 am to 4:30 pm in the Teen Zone. Ages 13-19
December 12: Theatre Thursday. Join us each month for a film showing of popular plays and musicals. Stop in and enjoy the show! *Titles can only be shared within the library due to licensing. 4:30 pm – 6:45 pm in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room.
December 14: Hear It, See It, Make It, Take It: Sensory Story Time. Sensory programs are designed for youth of various ability levels including differently-abled youth—Saturdays at 11 am in the Children’s Department.
December 14: Santa Story Time. Santa is flying in to spread Christmas cheer and read stories for all to hear! Enjoy hot cocoa, cookies, and get your picture with Santa before he returns to the North Pole! December 14 at 1 PM in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room.
December 14: Cupcake Decorating Class. Decorate pre-baked cupcakes with different tips and techniques! Class size is limited, be sure to check our website for availability. 2:00-3:30, 2nd Floor Conference Room. This class is intended for adults.
Coloring Contest for all ages: Color a picture and win a prize. Return entries by the end of the month. Entries will be displayed in the Children’s Room. Winners will be notified.
