Diversify Your Reading Challenge: In a reading rut? Expand your reading horizons by completing one or all of our challenges! Finish a challenge to earn a custom poster! This challenge is for teens and adults, ages 13 and up. August 1, 2024 – August 1, 2025
Rubber Ducky Readers: Join this fun Beanstack Challenge! For every 10 books read, the child will get a rubber duck, every 100 books equal a book, a sticker and a certificate, 1000 books equal a goody bag filled with a book, a sticker, a completion certificate, a stuffed animal, a blow-up rubber duck, etc. This challenge is for ages 0-6.
Winter Reading Program: Squishing Through the Snow: Join us for our Squishing Through the Snow Winter Reading Program, running from January 6th to February 17th, 2025! Kids, Tweens, Teens, and Adults can register starting December 30th and earn fun prizes by logging their reading days on the Beanstack app.
January 13: Genealogy Workshop: Setting Genealogy Goals. Identify Your Genealogy Goals for the year and Make a Concrete Research Plan. 1-2:30 PM in the 2nd Floor Conference Room.
January 13: Teen Movie Mondays. Join us on the 2nd Monday of every month for a movie and popcorn in Teen Zone! Teens can suggest and vote on which movie we watch. 3 pm – 7 pm.
January 14: Teen Otaku Club. Join us every 2nd Tuesday for Teen Otaku Club! At this meeting, Teens will be able to choose what manga/anime we should focus on! 4:30 pm-5:30 pm in the Teen Zone. Ages 13-19.
January 14: Tween It! Tuesdays. Fun programs for tweens each Tuesday. This week: Break a record. Choose a Guinness World Record and try to break it! 4:30 pm in the Program Room (Former Bookstore). Ages 8-12.
January 14: Wee Wigglers Story Time. Join us for action rhymes, stories, and songs for children ages 5 and under. Tuesdays at 10:00 am in the Program Room (Former Bookstore).
January 15: Rainbow Playgroup. Socialization, play and STEAM activities for toddlers. 10 AM- 11 AM. Howard Rutan Meeting Room
January 15: Teen Writing Club. Join us every Wednesday for Teen Writing Club! Journals and pens will be provided for our teen writers, along with writing prompts. 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm in the YA area. Ages 13-19.
January 15: Wordy Wednesdays. Puzzle lovers, mark your calendars! Every Wednesday, head on up to the 2nd floor Reference Desk for a variety of word puzzles. Available anytime during our regular business hours.
January 16: Anything Tech for Teens. Introducing teens to some of the library’s cool technology, including 3D Printing, 3D Pens, Sphero Balls, Cricut, and a Flight Simulator. Thursdays at 3:00 pm in the Teen Zone. Ages 13-19.
January 16: Crafty Thursday. Stop by the Teen Zone to make slime! Thursday from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm in the Teen Zone. Ages 13-19.
January 17: Lego Club: Squishmallows Edition. Build, create, and imagine at Lego Club! This month’s theme is Squishmallows—design your favorite soft, squishy characters using colorful Lego bricks. 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm in the Programming Room. Ages 5-12.
January 18: Crafternoon. Paint Your Own Tote Bag! Stop in while supplies last! 2:00 pm-3:30 pm in 2nd Floor Conference Room. This activity is intended for adults.
January 18: Goosebumps Parent/Child Book Club. Parents, share your Goosebumps nostalgia with your kids in our Parent-Child Book Club series! This month, we’re featuring The Curse of the Mummy’s Tomb by R.L. Stine. We’ll have activities and games, and you’ll get a free copy of the book to take home. 1 pm in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room.
January 18: Sensory and Bilingual Story Adventures. A unique programming experience combining bilingual storytelling with sensory-friendly activities, designed to engage children of all abilities. This inclusive program creates a welcoming space where stories come to life through interactive elements, fostering language development and sensory exploration in a fun and supportive environment. Saturdays at 11 a.m. in the Children’s Department.
Adult Craft: Stop by the Reference Desk on the 2nd floor for a Diamond Art take-and-make craft! While supplies last.
Coloring Contest for all ages: Color a picture and win a prize. Return entries by the end of the month. Entries will be displayed in the Children’s Room. Winners will be notified. Weekly Crafts. Drop by for fun crafts in the children’s department. Available Monday through Thursday from 8 am-6:30 pm and Fri-Sat 8 am-4 pm. New craft each week! This week: Hot Cocoa Craft
