A young Danville business has Thursday, February 6th circled on their calendar for a Danville Planning and Zoning Commission meeting. And between now and then, members of their team are regularly attending City Council meetings, and inviting Council members to stop by and see how they do things at their cannabis products and records store. The Seven Point of Illinois cannabis dispensary, at 380 Eastgate Drive along the west side of Lynch road, opened last April; and had their grand opening and ribbon cutting shortly thereafter.
What CEO Brad Zerman and his crew are hoping for next is a regulated, on-site consumption lounge for the benefit of their clients. Seven Point of Illinois Team Leader Pedro Linares, a 2018 Schlarman Academy graduate, spoke to the Danville City Council during Tuesday (Jan 7th) evening’s meeting. Linares told CIMG afterwards that it’s wonderful when someone comes in and says, “my doctor has recommended that I try your products.” Linares says that is why Seven Point is there, to help people.

AUDIO: (It’s) one of the most rewarding feelings about working in a dispensary; our marijuana infused edibles, as a safer alternative than the pills and opioids that they’re getting put on. And it’s people that really really cannot move well, people in wheelchairs. You know people that need the actual help are flooding in for help from our store.
Linares says the consumption lounge; offering a welcoming place on site to actually use their products, is the logical next step.
AUDIO: This is where you’re coming into a different side of things. We are going to be offering a place that’s regulated; safe. We just offer a safe place for the younger crowd; all types of crowds in reality. It’s going to help with safety in so many different ways.
The Danville Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on February 6th will be at 5:15 PM, in the City Council chambers.
