THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
On Wednesday evening 1/15/2025 at around 5:15 p.m. a Danville Police Officer stopped a vehicle in the area of N. Bowman Ave. and Madison St. for a registration violation.
The driver was identified as 24-year-old Levi Applegate of Danville. During the officer’s stop circumstances led to further investigation. The officer seized an amount of illegal cannabis between 10 to 30 grams accompanied by a firearm.
Applegate was arrested and transported to the Vermilion County Public Safety Building where he was booked on charges of Illegal Possession of Adult Use of Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
The Danville Police Department reminds the public that all subjects arrested are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
