THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
On Wednesday evening, 1/29/2025, around 5:15 p.m., officers of the Danville Police Department Community Housing Unit stopped a subject in the 1100 block of Fowler Avenue. This is in “The Grove” apartment complex in Danville.
Officers recognized the subject from previous information described during a shots fired call. CHU officers identified the subject as 21-year-old Davaris Jackson of Danville. Officers learned through their investigation that Jackson was wanted on a Vermilion County warrant that included gun charges.
During the arrest of Jackson, CHU officers located a loaded firearm on his person. Officers learned Jackson did not have an Illinois Concealed Carry License. Davaris Jackson was arrested, transported to the Public Safety Building, and booked on charges of being Wanted on a Warrant, and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
The Danville Police Department reminds the public that all subjects arrested are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
