10 High Schools Competed
Danville Area Community College hosted the Academic Challenge in Engineering and Science (ACES) Regional competition, a test of aptitudes in Mathematics and Science, on February 4, 2025. The regional competition was sponsored by the Math and Science department at Danville Area Community College.
Students were tested in seven different academic areas which included mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, english, engineering graphics and computer science. Ten high schools, represented by over 125 students, participated. Teams that have placed first or second overall, as well as all individuals earning the top two scores in each event in their division, will be competing in sectional competition on March 13 at Eastern Illinois University. Danville High School was the only participant in the 1500 division (enrollment less than or equal to 1500 students) and received an automatic advancement to sectionals.
