THE FOLLOWING IS BY DANVILLE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT NADIA GAMBLE
Several of Danville High School’s groups and clubs collaborated to spread their love to the Veterans on Valentine’s Day. For the fourth year in a row, DHS students from Student Council and Future Problem Solvers (FPS) organized a holiday celebration at the Cannon Place veteran apartments on the VA grounds. The YUMAD Gospel Choir also helped decorate and setup refreshment tables with Student Council and FPS before performing for the veterans of Cannon Place.

The students made valentine cards for the veterans. Student Council and FPS also continued their tradition of bringing food to restock the pantry and fill the freezer with pizza and meals. State Senator Paul Faraci and State Representative Brandun Schweitzer made the event even better by showing up to honor the veterans. Ms. Lori Woods, co-sponsor for Student Council and coach for FPS, commented on how seeing the students visiting with veterans made this was one of her favorite events from this year.
