THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
On Wednesday evening 2/19/25 around 10:15 p.m., Danville Police Officers responded to the report of a 911 call in the area of Holiday Hills, specifically the 900 block of Timberline Dr. The caller reported to dispatchers they witnessed juveniles walking in the area attempting to break into cars.
Officers arrived in the area and stopped two juveniles who matched the description that was reported to the 911 dispatchers. During the officer’s investigation, they discovered a 17-year-old Danville juvenile was in possession of a loaded firearm.
The 17-year-old Danville teen was arrested and transported to the Vermilion County Juvenile Detention Center where he was being held until his hearing after being booked on charges of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
The Danville Police Department reminds the public that all subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
