Former Illinois Gov. Jim Edgar on Monday revealed he’s been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Edgar served as the 38th governor of Illinois, from 1991 to 1999. He previously served in the
Illinois House of Representatives and as Secretary of State. He was succeeded by Gov. George Ryan
in the governor’s office. He has remained active in the political arena since leaving office and
has been a vocal critic of President Donald Trump.
