If you have spring fever and cannot wait to get going on some gardening projects, the place to be on Saturday (March 8th) is the Vermilion County University of Illinois Master Gardeners’ GARDEN DAY at the Danville Area Community College Bremer Center.
The Master Gardeners’ John Bodensteiner says the class sessions may be filled, but for anyone who just wants to see what the vendors have to offer and “talk gardening,” stopping by on Saturday is the solution.
AUDIO: They’ll be about 30 to 40 Master Gardeners, so I invite you to bring your questions; come out and ask anybody a question. If we don’t know the answer, we’ll find one of the other Master Gardeners that does. And if none of us know it, we have the University of Illinois as our source of information, so we can ask them. And they can answer almost anything.
Bodensteiner says there will be items you can buy, such as flowers and plants; not to mention items to bid on in the silent auction.
AUCTION: We have garden art. One of the silent auction items is a repurposed garden bench. There’s one from Work Source, that is made out of cedar wood that is gorgeous. There’s a bicycle that’s been repainted as a garden ornament. We have a huge wheelbarrow with two wheels that is on the silent auction.
The time for Saturday’s GARDEN DAY at the DACC Bremer Center is 8 AM to 4 PM.
