THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
On Thursday morning 3/6/2025 at about 9:30 a.m., officers of the Danville Police Department Problem Oriented Policing Unit in partnership with the Vermilion County Metropolitan Enforcement Group were working together on an investigation detail.
During the detail, P.O.P. officers stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of N. Bowman Ave. Officers stopped the vehicle after witnessing both an equipment and a moving violation. Officers made contact with the driver of the vehicle identified as 34-year-old John E. Forman of Danville.
Through further investigation, the P.O.P. officers located a loaded firearm on Forman. By law, Forman is not allowed to carry a firearm.
Forman was taken to the booking area of the Public Safety Building and charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon.
The Danville Police Department reminds the public that all suspects arrested are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
