Sometime between 6 and 9 AM Monday, March 17th; Sunset Funeral Home’s Rich Darby will be appearing on “Morning in America” on the NewsNation cable news channel; talking about Operation Honor Guard, started by Rich locally to provide new uniforms for Honor Guard units; after he noticed during a funeral years ago that this was very much needed. Darby says the connection with NewsNation was made with fortunate connections.

Coby Cooper used to be the general manager at WCIA in Champaign, and then moved to Tennessee, but has since retired. And it was one of those things where he knew a guy, who knew a guy, that knew the producers of this show. And he got us an e-mail address; and then I reached out to the producers explaining our cause, and they loved it.
Darby says, no doubt, it would be great to see similar Operation Honor Guard efforts happening across the country.
Audio PlayerAUDIO: Our board of directors is definitely on board to growing us to a major national organization. We kind of had a vote at our last meeting that it’s time, because there’s such a need.
Just google “How to find NewsNation” to find out where it is streamed, where you can get the app, and other information. By the way, this year’s Operation Honor Guard “Day of Giving” is Wednesday, May 14th. And a new location where you can donate will be Sunset Funeral Home’s Covington location.
