Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon; Possession of a Stolen Firearm
On Friday evening, 3/14/25, around 9:45 p.m., members of the Danville Police Department Community Housing Unit (C.H.U.) stopped a vehicle for a registration violation in the area of W. English and N. Walnut Streets.
The driver was identified as 22-year-old Shatiya T Brigham of Danville. Officers noticed open alcohol and illegal cannabis inside the vehicle. These circumstances led to further investigation which directed officers to discover a loaded and stolen firearm on Brigham.
Brigham was arrested and transported to the Vermilion County Public Safety Building where she was booked on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a stolen firearm, and driving with a suspended/revoked/canceled registration

Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Handgun (Under 21) Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon
On Wednesday 3/12/25 around 9:00 p.m. members of the Danville Police Department Problem Oriented Policing (P.O.P.) Unit were patrolling in the area of the 100 block of Cherry St.
Officers witnessed a subject walking illegally in the roadway and ordered him to stop. The subject attempted to run away from the officers and was placed in custody. During the arrest, a loaded firearm was found on the subject.
Officers identified the arrestee as 18-year-old Kamarion E Jones of Danville. Jones was transported to the Vermilion County Public Safety Building and booked on charges of aggravated possession of a firearm being under the age of 21, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and obstructing and resisting a peace officer.

Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Handgun (Under 21) Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol
On Thursday 3/13/25 around 10:15 p.m., Officers responded to the intersection of Buchanan St. and Perrysville Ave. for the report of a truck crashing into a garage and the driver fleeing the scene.
Officers arrived and learned the male driver ran into the woods west of the crash site. Witnesses provided a clear and accurate description of the suspect which allowed the officers to check the woods.
Danville Police Officers located the driver of the vehicle in the woods and placed him in custody. He was identified as 20-year-old Michael J Sanquenetti of Clinton, IN. After further investigation, a firearm was located in the suspect’s truck. Sanquenetti is not allowed to possess a firearm in Illinois. Further investigation was completed and Sanquenetti was transported to the Vermilion County Public Safety Building and booked for aggravated unlawful possession of a handgun under the age of 21, driving under the influence of alcohol, and leaving the scene of an accident with vehicle damage.
