Journalism is just one of Nadia’s strong suits.
She’s an artist. “I like drawing more, because it calms me down and never has to be perfect. It is a good way to express feelings.”
She’s an athlete, the junior running track, lifting weights and picking off passes as a member of the area’s first IHSA girls’ flag football team. “It was amazing to be part of,” she said. “I am extremely grateful for the addition, and I’m sure it’s going to become one of our main sports.”
She’s a go-getter as a member of the National Honor Society, Black Student Union, Gospel Choir and BeYOUtiful. “Junior year has provided so many good memories,” she said. That includes a role with us. “Being the Danville’s student reporter has made me realize just how much stuff has happened in our school. The school has done a wonderful job having a variety of activities, and I have the opportunity to highlight those clubs and/or events.”
Finally, she’s one of her school’s biggest cheerleaders: “I am proud to call myself a Danville Viking. No matter what anyone says, this school is amazing, it provides a lot of opportunities, listens to the kids and has wonderful teachers. I would not wish to be anywhere else, because when it comes to events — we bring energy, creativity and fun. I only wish more people knew about the greatness of being a Danville Viking.”
