Charges of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon; Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon

On Friday evening, 3/21/2205, at around 9 p.m., members of the Danville Police Department Problem-Oriented Policing Unit conducted a traffic stop in the area of Gilbert and Williams Streets after witnessing a moving violation.
P.O.P. officers made contact with two subjects in the vehicle who were identified as 19-year-old Alex Doe and 19-year-old Joshua S Brocks both of Danville.
During the stop, officers witnessed a firearm in the vehicle and further investigation showed neither man could legally possess a firearm.

Both men were arrested and transported to the Vermilion County Public Safety Building for processing. Alex Doe was found to be on probation in Vermilion County and was booked on the charge of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon. Joshua Brocks was booked on the charge of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
The Danville Police Department reminds the public that all subjects arrested and booked are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
