The Danville Area Community College Board of Trustees has approved a tuition adjustment for the next school year. Vice-President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer Tammy Betancourt says per credit hour costs will have small increases; with new total costs of $160 per credit hour for tuition, along with $35 per credit hour for the technology activity fee. Betancourt says this is just a small increase to keep things in line, and keep DACC at a great deal for students.

Also during Thursday (March 27th) evening’s DACC Board meeting, Barbering Program Instructor Terry Gouard made a presentation to the board. He says the barbering students out at the DACC facility at the Village Mall are doing great, and interest in the program is growing.

The DACC Barbering School continues to offer free haircuts every Friday, 10 AM to 3 PM, at their Village Mall location.
Finally, board member Tracy Cherry was honored, at her last Board meeting after serving for 6 1/2 years. She said after the meeting there’s plenty to be proud of during her time there, and DACC will continue to grow.
Audio PlayerAUDIO: There are going to be a lot more opportunities for students and families, and I hope that it’s taken advantage of. We need to grow our own, and build our community that way. And there’s a lot of opportunities for the students, right here in this community, to really come to DACC and excel.
DACC Board of Trustees candidates are just one item on next Tuesday’s (April 1st) Consolidated Election ballot.
