THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE HIGH SCHOOL JROTC RELEASE
On March 15th, 2025, Danville High School hosted the 2nd Annual Illinois State Bullseye & 3D JROTC archery competitions here in Danville, IL. There were 9 schools who participated in the competition in which Danville High School JROTC archery team took 3rd place in each of the events. Participating schools traveled from all areas of the state to participate in the competition. Each school had to meet state qualification scoring standards to compete in the tournament.
The Bullseye competition featured C/LTC Robert Miller posting a score of 284 and placing him 3rd out of 178 archers. C/MAJ Alli Rodgers posted the highest 3D competitive score of 277, placing her 1st in the state among all JROTC programs. The competition was highly competitive, resulting in a 13–point difference between first and third place in the bullseye competition.
There were other outstanding performances who are worthy of mention: Cadet Kenny Baker posted a score of 271 (bullseye) and 244 (3D) which resulted in his combined personal best total score. Cadet Corryn Witherspoon also shot her personal best in both competitions (266 bullseye & 246 3D), achieving her personal best combine score. C/CPT Kyndal Corley and Jace Vasquez also had outstanding performances, making a significant impact in the team’s overall 3rd Place finishes.
