THE FOLLOWING IS A VERMILION COUNTY CONSERVATION DISTRICT RELEASE
Danville, IL – The Vermilion County Conservation District will host an “Illinois Birds” professional development workshop at Kennekuk County Park on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 9am-3pm.
Explore the biodiversity of Illinois bird species during spring migration season! Participants will learn about current bird research in east central Illinois and see birds up-close through bird netting demonstrations with researchers from the University of Illinois. Bird adaptations, their life history, and a hike to look for birds will also be covered during the workshop.
Discussions and activities will target grades K – 6, however, all those interested in birds are welcome to register for the workshop and can adapt the information as appropriate. Supplemental resources and classroom activities correlated to Illinois State Learning Standards and NGSS will be provided. Registration is only $11 at https://enticeworkshops.com/. This workshop is part of the ENTICE (Environment and Nature Training Institute for Conservation Education) program from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
