THE FOLLOWING IS A CITY OF DANVILLE RELEASE
Danville, IL – April 3, 2025 – In light of potential rainy weather forecasted for the evening of April 4th, the City of Danville has made the decision to relocate the First Fridays: 5K Super Run & Walk to the Public Parking Garage at 22 N Walnut St, Danville, IL 61832.
All event activities, including race registration, t-shirt purchase and pick-up, music, costume contest, themed activities, food trucks, and the race itself, will now take place at the parking garage. This venue provides participants with an enclosed, centralized space to complete the 5K race, minimizing concerns about inclement weather.
As a result, road closures along the original First Fridays: 5K Super Run route will not be necessary on the evening of April 4th, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM Central Time.
We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause. However, we believe this adjustment is the most effective solution to proceed with the event, which is made possible through sponsorship funding.
