DANVILLE — Additional school resource officer coverage will continue at North Ridge Middle School on Friday after fights broke out Thursday at the school.
According to a notice from Principal Micheal Gourley Thursday afternoon, administration and staff still are investigating “several fights.” Appropriate discipline will be issued in the incidents, he stated.
“During the afternoon fight, a student made a verbal threat toward the school. While this threat was determined to be the result of a frustrated student, additional School Resource Officer (SRO) coverage was brought in for the remainder of the day and will be present during tomorrow’s school day,” Gourley stated.
“It is unfortunate that these incidents took place, but your child’s safety is our highest priority, and we are working to keep everyone safe and families informed,” he continued.
Interim Superintendent John Hart said he still was getting information about what happened.
He wasn’t aware of anyone being hurt.
