THE FOLLOWING IS A NEWS-GAZETTE STORY BY JENNIFER BAILEY
DANVILLE — The new Sonic Drive-in fast-food restaurant at the northwest corner of Vermilion and Fairchild streets in Danville has a tentative grand opening date of April 28.
There will be a ribbon cutting at 10:30 a.m. that day.
Owner/Operator Jacob Barnard said they had a setback with the weather with construction, but it’s getting there.
He and his partner have been focused on Sonic, and Barnard said he’s not sure when the new Jimmy John’s will open.
He added that obviously with construction, delays can happen.
“As long as we go smoothly, we’re all good to go,” Barnard said of the April date.
Sonic’s normal hours will be 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. However, it will be opening later the first day after the grand-opening ceremony.
