The It Takes a Village Mentorship has received a big boost to continue their work at North Ridge Middle School, through the presentation of a $25,000 grant check from Earthrise Energy. After starting with a group of students while they were at South View Upper Elementary, It Takes a Village was able to follow students that they were mentoring up to North Ridge. And mentorship group president O.J. Harrison says the idea is to do this for more students for many years.

It means everything to continue to be able to follow them all the way up from adolescence all the way up into to their teenage years. It’s very impactful in their lives to have someone they can look at, and have an example of how to live and how to carry yourself.
Pastor Hoskins says, the important work with Danville students goes on.
Audio PlayerAUDIO: You know, we started off with some of them when they were just in the fourth grade. So now they’re in the seventh or eighth grade. And so for us, it’s about just building on the relationship with them; being a source of support; letting them know we care about them; and seeing them do well in school.
Justin Pau and Cheryl Toohey from Earthrise Energy talked about the importance of supporting the It Takes a Village Mentorship.
Audio PlayerAUDIO: (JUSTIN) We’re always looking to be involved. And It Takes a Village has got a great program going. And we’re happy to be involved with that too. (CHERYL) So Earthrise is a PBLLC, which is a Public Benefit Limited Liability Corporation. So by design, it’s our intent to give back to communities, and support the great work that’s happening.
Earthrise Energy’s natural gas plant, the Tilton Energy Center, is located at 80 West 1st Street in Tilton.
