Danville Area Community College Interim President Dr. Randy Fletcher addressed the Danville City Council at the start of Tuesday night’s (April 15th) meeting, and one of the items highlighted was DACC’s upcoming new “strategic plan.” And Dr. Fletcher stated that just one part of that will be the “enrollment strategic plan.” He explained afterwards that one goal is going to be helping part time students become full time students, or at least closer to full time; so they can reach their academic goals at a quicker pace.

And those numbers really are indicative of really wanting to work with students, in terms of taking more of a full load of classes; so they can move towards their educational goals at a more accelerated pace; so that they can receive their certificate or their degree.
Dr. Fletcher says another goal enrollment wise is going to be having more older students take advantage of education available at DACC.
Audio PlayerAUDIO: If you look at the age ratio right now; we’re about, 23, is about the average age of all of our credit students. As a community college, that’s a bit low, or young. We would really like to see that number be a little higher, as it shows that we’re serving a broader spectrum of students.
Dr. Fletcher is hoping for the new DACC Strategic Plan to be in place by sometime in 2026.
