DANVILLE — The city’s former human relations administrator, who was fired two months ago after a 34-plus-year career, said the outpouring of support she has received warms her heart.
“It has been overwhelmingly appreciated because the community, the people I have worked with, know that,” Sandra Finch said. “I represented the city very well. I did my job. And that’s why I’m receiving so much support of what I did as being the human-relations administrator.”
Finch said “it’s unbelievable” for Mayor Rickey Williams Jr. “to come up with this bogus reasoning to terminate me.”
“Because he could, he terminated me for a bogus reason,” Finch said.
She wouldn’t go into detail on whether she is seeking legal counsel or any plans to sue the city.
