The Vermilion County Board welcomed one new member and said goodbye to another this week. Ryan Goodner was sworn in by Judge Thomas O’Shaughnessy to replace Gary Miller as a board member representing District 1. And Mitch Weaver attended his last meeting as a County Board member from the Georgetown area.
Weaver feels the board has made some big accomplishments since he was elected to the county board in 2016….

I feel our county elected officials – they do a fine job. And that makes us board members jobs easier when they keep inside their budget and we don’t have to keep going back and amend it and do other things.”}
Weaver is not stepping down altogether from public service. He was recently elected to the Georgetown City Council…

The person who will replace Weaver on the County Board has not been determined yet.
