Fifth Judicial Circuit of Illinois Judge Nicolas J. Boileau has informed incoming Danville District 118 School Board member Toni Towne that the petition she filed in an attempt to prevent the school board’s separation agreement with outgoing superintendent Dr. Alicia Geddis “has several procedural deficiencies.”
The judge stated that proper authoritarian citing for a requested temporary restraining order against the agreement was not included in the petition, and that Towne would need to come back with that for the petition to proceed. Judge Boileau stated during the court session that as a third party judge he could tell Towne what she needs, but could not advise her how to get it.
Towne asked the judge if the separation agreement with Geddis could be placed on hold while Towne is obtaining what is needed to proceed, but the judge said that could not be done at this time.
The separation agreement with Dr. Geddis was approved by the board 4-3 at their April 9th meeting, but no definite final amount was offered by District 118 Board president Dr. Randal Ashton.
