With the widely reported amount of over $800,000 circulating since Friday, in regard to Danville District 118’s settlement payment to outgoing superintendent Dr. Alicia Geddis; the question now is: WHAT’S NEXT?
It was back on April 18th that incoming 118 School Board member Toni Towne represented herself in legal proceedings against the current school board, seeking a temporary restraining order to keep the board from acting upon the terms of the approved settlement. She was told by judge Nicolas J. Boileau that her case “had several procedural deficiencies.”

But in speaking with CIMG on Saturday, Towne stated that there are still questions to be explored that the public would like to have answered; and that she will be meeting with an attorney this week about possibly moving forward.

CIMG also spoke with incoming school board member Christopher Easton. He said it’s his hope that the new District 118 School Board will be able to get back to what should be their number one priority: doing their best for the students. The new District 118 Board will be seated at the May 7th meeting.
