THE FOLLOWING IS A DHS JROTC ARCHERY TEAM RELEASE
Here are the official results of the season ending national archery tournaments: The Danville JROTC Varsity Archery team traveled to Sandy, Utah during the week of 21-26 Apr 25, and participated in two separate nationally ranked archery tournaments held at the Mountain America Expedition Center. The team participated in two tournaments: the 2025 JROTC Western National Championship (JROTC Only competition) & the 2025 Center Shot Western National Archery Tournament (open civilian tournament). DHS archers were divided into 2 teams for a total of 12 archers that endured a 34-hour bus ride to Sandy, Utah. The competition was stiff, and congratulations our team, they did their best shooting of the year. The team members consisted of: Alli Rodgers, Robert Miller, Jace Vasquez, Kyndal Corley, Corryn Witherspoon, Kenneth Baker, Wyatt Bradshaw, Hannah Mullis, Titiana Cottrell, Dawson Stack, Jack Jones and Kamyrn Anglemyer. I would like to honorably mention the other members of the Danville Varsity Archery team who were so instrumental in our season’s success: Karmyn Anglemyer, Alexzander Juarez, Katie Long, Karleigh Vogel, Olivia Scaggs, Mareli Ocampo, Bryant Broun, and Demarco & Denzel Tyler.
Many of them, under pressure, shot their very best competing against the best in the nation. The competition involved all day shooting in which the JROTC only tournament was conducted in the morning and the open civilian tournament was conducted in the afternoon. The competition involved both bullseye and 3D shooting in each tournament featuring over 40 qualified teams competing in each competition. Here are the team results:

Team accomplishments: The DHS archery team has won three national team awards in the past 2 years. Team Captain, Alli Rodgers, placed 3rd in JROTC 3D this year and finished
2nd JROTC Overall Archer this year. She lost by 5 points from winning the overall title for
the 2nd year in a row. Team Captain, Robert Miller, continued to demonstrate his high skill and knowledge of the sport by posting the team’s highest scores throughout the entire season and this competition. Cadet Miller placed 9th in the JROTC Bullseye competition
with a score of 281. Jace Vasquez established a new personal best record in the 3D competition which made an impact in the team placing 5th in the national competition. I
would like to commend all the other archers whose efforts also made a difference in the
team’s success. I would truly like to thank the individuals, parents, coaches, schools and
organizations for assisting us in having a fabulous year.
