DANVILLE — An incoming Danville school board member is still evaluating whether to continue a lawsuit against the board demanding an investigation into former Superintendent Alicia Geddis and the separation settlement that the board approved.
Judge Nicolas J. Boileau ruled there were technical deficiencies in the suit filed by Toni Towne, in which she requested a temporary restraining order against the agreement, and gave her a 30-day extension to correct them. He also told her the agreement with Geddis couldn’t be placed on put while that happens.
“I haven’t closed the book on it,” Towne said, adding that as of Tuesday, she was waiting to hear back from an attorney.
She said she had a short time frame to throw things together for the first filing to try to stop the payout, and she doesn’t know how things will change once she is sworn in as a board member at its May 7 meeting.
She said once she is on the board, she knows she will have access to more information, such as the defamation portion of the agreement regarding the district.
