THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA RELEASE
On Friday, May 9 at 7:30 pm, Maestro Matthew Sheppard will conduct the DSO in its final classical program of the season, featuring selections from sacred music across time and space. Music that will be performed are Aaron Copland’s Variations on a Shaker Melody, Arvo Pärt’s Silouan’s Song, Felix Mendelssohn’s Reformation Symphony, and more.
“We are delighted to partner with St. James United Methodist Church and perform music with sacred and liturgical connections in such a special setting. We couldn’t imagine a more fitting space to share the marvelous sounds of Music of the Heavens with our audience,” said Sheppard.
Tickets are still available for the May 9 concert, with a general admission cost of $35. Students can buy tickets for $10.
Tickets may be purchased online at www.danvillesymphony.org. or by calling (217) 443-5300. Tickets are also available at the DSO office at 715 West Fairchild Street, Danville. Hours 1-5 pm, Monday through Friday.
