During Tuesday night’s Danville City Council meeting, Director of Public Works Dave Ruwe stated that Homrich, the contractor handling the tear down of Bresee Tower, became more concerned about how brittle the facade of Bresee Tower actually could be, and how bouncing pieces could cause damage to cars passing by on Main Street.
Prior to the council meeting, Ruwe said please be patient, and please follow the simple detour signs.

Debris on the ground from the Courthouse Annex Building demolition is being sorted out prior to the Bresee Tower tear down.
Police Chief Christopher Yates says the intent is never to inconvenience anyone, but safety can make it necessary.

The actual Bresee Tower tear down could be underway by Thursday afternoon or Friday morning.
