The Danville Dans announced earlier this week that Riggs Beer Company in Urbana is launching a beer that you’ll be able to get at Danville Stadium this summer with the Dans’ name on the label; the Danville Dans IPL by Riggs.
Riggs Beer Company’s Matt Riggs says some talks about this happened last season. And now, beer brewed from grain grown nearby will be making its home at Danville Stadium.
Audio PlayerAUDIO: I just kind of mentioned; hey, have you guys thought about the possibility of putting your own custom beer, with a custom label, on the beer can for sale at the games; and they were receptive from the very beginning. And I think it’s really neat that we’re able to take corn and barley that’s grown 25 miles from home plate, and deliver it to the stadium in the form of beer for people to enjoy.
Riggs Beer Company is hosting a kickoff party at their brewery for the Dans season, Noon to 4 PM this Saturday the 10th of May. Matt Riggs says they’ll be ready for family baseball fun.
Audio PlayerAUDIO: They’ve organized a little bit of a raffle. They’re going to be giving away some tickets for some games, and I think some merchandise. And I’ve confirmed that we’re going to have a little, like a batting practice net up. And we’ll have a bat and some balls; and if you want to bring your glove; that’s the great thing about our beer garden, we’ve got a lot of space out there. So, we’ll just do a little bit of light spring training.
