DANVILLE — Following the swearing-in of new members, the Danville school board this week turned its attention to the district’s plan to address fights and student behavior at North Ridge Middle School.
“We obviously know that things need to change,” interim Superintendent John Hart said. “Things need to improve at North Ridge.”
In response to a question by newly elected board Vice President Kim Corley, Hart said he and a central office team of seven spent six to seven days discussing changes that could be implemented for the short term, with the end of the school year approaching, as well as long-range options.
The team of Hart, Kim Pabst and Markesha Parker (human resources), Molly Bailey (special education), Kelly Truex (educational support programs), MaryEllen Bunton (curriculum), Chris Rice (early learning) and Annette Hummel (information technology) began working on a plan about three weeks ago.
