As of about 2:30 Monday afternoon, Bresee Tower was still just as tall, but a lot more hallow. As Homrich out of Carleton, Michigan continued their work on tearing it down; one of the spectators nearby, sitting in a folding chair watching their work, was Danville native Frank Engle. He was looking right at the newly punctured holes on the north side of the building.
AUDIO: They’ve been working diligently. They’ve had some trouble with that crane, but it looks like they’re making a lot of progress today. (And all those holes were made today?) All those holes were made today. (So what was it like? Were you seeing them one at a time, or how did it happen?) They had a, it’s like a jackhammer, that punched holes into the bricks. And then that thing they had on there just now, poked holes in it; and then they were scraping stuff out.
Frank Engle said he may not be there for every single day of the tear down, but he plans to be there for most of them.
