THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE NOON ROTARY RELEASE
Monday, May 12, 2025- Danville Noon Rotary welcomed Jake Ozier, Community Outreach Coordinator for OSF Healthcare. Supporting communities in both Danville and Urbana, Jake oversees the social services arm of the hospital. In partnership with Carle and the Vermilion County Health Department, they conduct a community needs assessment every three years which serves as a blueprint for future program development. Examples of programs include OSF Cares-4-Kids which is a pediatric mental health prevention program serving children at the YMCA and various aftercare programs. The Safe at Home course teaches children about safety while they are home alone, and Safe Sitter courses teach children babysitting safety and responsibility. OSF Faith in Action provides assistance with mental health and workgroups designed for dealing with low income and poverty situations.
Smart Meals for Seniors delivers nutritious meals and promotes healthy meal choices. They even have programs to assist with the cost of prescriptions. The OSF Care-a-Van is a mobile health center staffed by members of OSF HealthCare and its Faith Community Nursing program. It provides routine screenings, immunizations and health education to citizens in the community. Jake oversees volunteer services at the hospital, and they are always seeking new volunteers. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or would like information on any of the programs offered, you can reach Jake Ozier at jacob.d.ozier@osfhealthcare.org.
The next meeting will be June 16 at WorkSource Enterprises at 12:00 pm with the Installation of new officers. Danville Noon Rotary would like to welcome everyone!
