THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
Early Sunday morning, May 18, 2025, around 2:30 a.m., a Danville Police Officer stopped a vehicle in the area of Voorhees and Martin Streets for an equipment violation.
The officer identified the driver of the vehicle as 25-year-old Armontae Swarn of Danville. It was discovered that Swarn’s driver’s license had been suspended. After Swarn was arrested, Officers located a loaded firearm and illegal narcotics inside the vehicle.
Swarn was transported to the Vermilion County Public Safety Building, where he was booked on charges of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Firearm with no FOID card, Driving While License Suspended, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
The Danville Police Department reminds the public that all subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
