Some area residents are continuing the clean-up after strong storms blew through the area late Tuesday. The Vermilion County Emergency Management Agency says it received only one report of damage. It involved some power poles that were blown over southwest of Potomac. But there were numerous trees or limbs downed by the storms in or near several communities including Westville and Collison. Some pea to golf-ball sized hail also accompanied the storms in parts of our region.
A tornado warning late Tuesday forced those attending an 8th grade graduation ceremony at Bismarck-Henning Middle School to seek shelter. Vermilion County EMA says although severe thunderstorm or tornado warnings stretched from one end of the county to the other there were no reports of severe damage. There also were no reports of injuries.
Tornado warnings or severe thunderstorm warnings were also posted late Tuesday in part or all of some neighboring counties.
