THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
On Thursday evening, 5/22/2025, around 6:15 p.m., Officers from the Danville Police Department responded to the 2100 block of E. Main St. for a 911 call of a subject that had been stabbed.
Officers arrived to find a 47-year-old Danville man with a stab wound. The victim was airlifted from the scene to Carle Hospital in Urbana. At the time of this release, the victim is listed in stable condition.
During the investigation, officers received valuable witness information and a description of the suspect. Danville Police Officers located 41-year-old Daniel Kist of Danville approximately nine blocks from the scene of the incident. Kist was arrested and taken to the Public Safety Building, where detectives questioned him.
Daniel Kist was booked and charged with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon. Kist is being held at the Vermilion County jail pending a pre-trial hearing.
